Description

State auditors, working alongside the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), can play a key role in ensuring that Medicaid dollars are being properly spent. Representatives from CMS, the Government Accountability Office and state auditors will discuss the ways that the state and federal sectors are pooling their knowledge and resources to improve payment integrity.

  • Attendees will learn about the importance of the combined efforts of federal officials and state auditors to manage and oversee this huge program which reported $36 Billion in estimated improper payments in 2018. They will also hear how possible federal legislation can offer opportunities to engage the state audit community.
