Roberta “Robbie” Lowe assumed the position of Director, OIC for the Department of Veterans Affairs, Office of Finance as of October 6, 2014. She was appointed Acting Director of the DMC as of February 13, 2017. As the Director OIC, Ms. Lowe is responsible for directing and managing coordination, oversight of development, and implementation of VA’s Internal Control programs. This includes both the STOP Fraud, Waste, and Abuse prevention program and implementation of the Improper Payment and Recovery Improvement Act (IPERIA) across the Department. As the Acting Director, DMC, Ms Lowe provides Veterans and beneficiaries with compassionate counselling on their VA benefit debts. She also provides distinctive high quality accounts receivable services through a value added approach, empowering DMC’s stakeholders to focus on core mission functions. Prior to accepting the position as OIC Director, Ms. Lowe served as the Director, Financial Management Directorate (FMD) functioning as the senior civilian executive and advisor to the Director, Washington Headquarters (WHS). Ms. Lowe entered Senior Executive Service in 2008 after serving 27 years as an officer in the US Air Force.
