Jorge Asef-Sargent is a partner in KPMG’s Federal Audit Practice in the Washington, DC office. His 23 years of experience include 20 years focused on performing Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Act audits, accounting, as well as accounting and advisory services for large and complex Executive Agencies of the U.S. Federal Government. Mr. Asef-Sargent has also managed special projects including the 2004 peer review of the Government Accountability Office, auditability assessments, and performance audits. 

Having spent over 19 years at KPMG, Mr. Asef-Sargent has been involved in a number of projects related to the development of KPMG's professionals around the world, including development of audit training programs, audit methodologies, and audit tools. Asef-Sargent also served as a reviewer with KPMG’s quality review program and he is the Innovation Leader for the Federal Audit Business Unit. 

Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Asef-Sargent served as a senior auditor in the audit practice of Harper, Rains & Knight. A native of Argentina, Asef-Sargent earned his Bachelor Degree in Accounting from the Universidad Nacional de Cordoba — Argentina in 1992. 

Mr. Asef-Sargent is a member of the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA), The Greater Washington Society of CPAs, and the Association of Government Accountants (AGA). Mr. Asef-Sargent served on the Assurance Services Executive Committee of the AICPA and he also currently serves as President of the AGA — Washington D.C. Chapter and IONA’s finance committee.
