Lisa Wiggins

Lisa L. Wiggins, a philanthropist, financial trainer and literacy coach, is the Controller and Director of Finance of CareerSource Florida, Inc., a nonprofit corporation where she has served managing an annual budget of over $20 million for 14 years since July 2005. Since entering this industry in 1994, Lisa has served in increasingly responsible positions overseeing finance teams, audit and monitoring, and implementing financial policy and procedures. Her leadership has resulted in streamlined processes, improved performance and great financial controls leading to uninterrupted years of clean audits.
Lisa was an auditor in the early part of her career and then found her calling with nonprofits and quasi-state work where she now brings 25 years of experience as a director and accounting professional. Prior to rejoining the corporate world in 2005, she practiced in the private sector for 4 years as a sole practitioner providing tax preparation, bookkeeping and small business consulting.
Lisa is the author of the book, Slay Your Finances: ABCDs of Personal Finance, and has authored articles and publications which demonstrate her love of finance and people’s wellbeing to help bridge gaps between financial illiteracy and financial freedom and between financial despair and hope.
Lisa L. Wiggins earned her Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Florida State University and her Master of Arts in Human Services from Liberty University with a specialization in Executive Leadership. A certified financial educator, CFEI, by exam and hope-restorer and motivator by nature, Lisa volunteers as President of SOONA Outreach, Inc. and Director of Member Care & Support at Truth Gatherers Dream Center. She is a Notary Public who is active in AGA, National Forum for Black Public Administrators, SHRM, and Personal Finance Speakers Association.
