Deputy Assistant Commissioner, Debt Management Services, Dept of the Treasury, Bureau of the Fiscal Service

Ms. Long serves as the Director of the Do Not Pay Business Center, which protects the integrity of the federal government’s payment processes by helping federal and state agencies identify and prevent improper payments. She was previously the Director of the Fiscal Service’s Treasury Offset Program, which collects over $7 billion annually by intercepting federal and state payments to collect delinquent debts. She also served as the Director of Debt Management Services’ Agency Relationship Management Division. Prior to these roles, she provided legal counsel in several areas of federal government financial management as an attorney in the Office of Chief Counsel. Prior to joining the Fiscal Service in 1998, she practiced in the private sector, representing financial institutions in commercial real estate financing transactions and was counsel to the Resolution Trust Corporation, which was formed to resolve the Savings and Loan crisis. She holds a B.S. in Communication Studies from Northwestern University and a J.D. from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law.
