Greg Hale

Program Management, Information Technology, District of Columbia Courts

Greg Hale will be celebrating his 18th year of service with the D.C. Courts later this year. He is the Program Manager for the Integrated Justice Information System2 (IJIS2) initiative responsible for implementing the Superior Court’s next generation integrated case management system. Initially hired in 2002 to manage the migration of the Superior Court’s legacy mainframe case applications to a commercial off-the-shelf integrated application platform, Greg has continued to oversee the Superior Court’s case management needs by implementing robust bi-directional electronic interfaces with agency partners; directing the Superior Court’s electronic filing (efiling) program; and facilitating the successful integration of a state-of-the-art content management system with the case management system.
After chairing the acquisition and selection process, Greg is now co-program manager for the implementation of the Court’s next generation CMS, which is hosted in the Microsoft Azure Cloud. As the co-program manager Greg’s responsibility is to ensure the integrated project team comprised of the CMS vendor, integration partner (RSM) and Court business as well as IT stakeholders work as a seamless unit to accomplish the “vision” defined by Court leadership. Combining the classic waterfall methodology with elements of agile into overall an “agilefall” approach that fits the Court’s personality and culture Greg and his team have managed to not only keep the program on schedule through the recent pandemic but have actually thrived despite all personnel working remotely.
Spanning a career of 25 years in the IT sector, Greg is a certified Contractor Officer Technical Representative (COTR) and has been a key contributor to enterprise initiatives such as CMMI, FedRAMP/FISMA, and Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL).
