Tammie S. Brown, CPA, CFE is an Assistant Director for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Office of Inspector General, Office of Audit Services, National External Audit Review (NEAR). She serves as the Single Audit Coordinator for the Department of Health and Human Services. Her responsibilities include overseeing the quality control review (QCR), peer review and technical assistance outreach activities related to Single Audits of nonfederal entities. Ms. Brown was recognized for her work on various OMB taskforces and AICPA working groups; focused on improving and enhancing the Single Audit quality by the National Intergovernmental Audit Forum when they named her the 2014 recipient of the Federal David M. Walker Excellence in Government Performance and accountability Award. In addition to various DHHS internal awards, Ms. Brown received awards in 2007 and 2014 from the Council of Inspectors Generals on Integrity and Efficiency (CIGIE) for her contributions to the National Single Audit Sampling project and the OMB Uniform Grant Reform issued in December 2013.
