Natalie McKinney

Branch Chief, Budget Execution, FDA

Natalie has over 15 years of budget and financial management experience from working in both the Federal government and the private sector. In 2014, she joined FDA’s Center for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition (CFSAN) as the Budget Execution Branch Chief within the Division of Budget and Planning, where she manages the center’s financial resources and supports program managers who protect the safety of our food supply. Prior to joining FDA, Natalie served as a Senior Budget Analyst at the Department of Homeland Security where she worked in the Office of the Chief Financial Officer for both DHS Headquarters and the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services Component. While there she was part of a team that led the development of an automated Executive Dashboard using Business Intelligence (BI) tools to retrieve, analyze and report financial data. During her time at FDA, Natalie built on her experience with BI systems and analytics while developing CFSAN’s first-of-their-kind suite of ‘child’ applications within FDA’s Integrated Budget and Acquisition Planning Systems (IBAPS). Since the introduction of CFSAN’s applications, several other FDA Centers have modeled their own ‘child’ applications on CFSAN’s progress.
