Laurie A. Park
Acting Deputy CFO/Deputy Assistant Secretary for Finance, U.S. Department of VA
Ms. Laurie Park serves as a Director of the Financial Management Quality Service Management Office (FM QSMO) within the Bureau of the Fiscal Service at the Department of the Treasury. She is responsible for providing leadership, direction, and guidance in the management of the FM QSMO activities that are government-wide in nature and will be accessed and used by all federal financial management community.
Previously, Ms. Park served as the Comptroller and Deputy Assistant Secretary for Finance at the Department of Veteran Affairs (VA). Ms. Park was responsible for Department-wide financial policy formulation and financial statement preparation, managing enterprise financial operations including VA’s Financial Services Center in Austin, Texas, VA’s Debt Management Center in St. Paul, Minnesota, and corporate financial applications including VA core accounting, payroll, and travel systems.
Prior to coming to the VA, Ms. Park served as a Senior Advisor at the Department of the Treasury, Office of Financial Innovation and Transformation. In this role,
she analyzed the current government-wide financial management environment, identified how Treasury and agency financial systems can work together more harmoniously to improve financial reporting, worked with agencies to discover and share best practices across the government, and identified and developed innovative technology solutions which could be commonly leveraged
