Karissa Matthews

Karissa Matthews supports the Risk Management & Assurance (RM&A) Division of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). In her current role she leads RM&A’s piloted efforts over the integration of analytics into existing business processes to help identify ways to strengthen internal controls. In addition, Karissa leads RM&A’s A-123 Information Technology program which evaluates security controls in place over DHS financial systems. Prior to transitioning to DHS Headquarters in 2015, Karissa worked in operations and internal controls for the DHS Transportation Security Administration. She holds a Master’s in Business Administration from Jacksonville State University and a Bachelor of Science in Finance and Applied Economics from Florida State University.
