Carrie Hug MS, CGFM, CPA, CGMA, CFE

Ms. Hug has more than 20 years of experience and a wealth of government and private-industry knowledge in the combined areas of accounting and oversight. Currently, as an Assistant Inspector General (AIG) in the Office of Audit Services within the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Office of Inspector General (OIG), she oversees audit policies and operations, and performance and mandatory audits. Before coming to HHS OIG, she served as the Director of Accountability at the Recovery Accountability and Transparency Board. There, she oversaw the Recovery Operations Center, where analysts identified fraud leads for OIGs and law enforcement agencies. She has also served as the Acting Deputy Assistant Secretary for Accounting Policy at the U.S. Department of Treasury and the Chief of the Accounting Standards and Grants Branch at the Office of Management and Budget within the Executive Office of the President. Ms. Hug is a member of the Association of Government Accountants, Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, and International Association of Financial Crimes Investigators.
