Adam Kavalsky
Chief Performance Officer, Social Security Administration
Adam Kavalsky joined the Social Security Administration (SSA) in 2004 and is currently the agency’s Chief Performance Officer assigned to the Office of the Commissioner. Adam’s previous Senior Executive Service (SES) assignments include the agency’s Chief Data Officer and Associate Commissioner of the Office of Analytics and Improvement (OAI). While in the Senior Executive Service Candidate Development Program (SESCDP), he served as a Deputy Associate Commissioner in the Office of Hearing’s Operations and an Assistant Regional Commissioner in the Office of Operations. Prior to his appointment into the SES and the SESCDP, Adam completed one year as a White House Leadership Fellow, assigned to the Office of Management and Budget, focused on the High-Definition data initiatives, supporting the President's Management Agenda.
He has also served as a director for numerous organizations, including the Center for Workload Visualizations and the Enterprise Program Management Operations. For most of his career, he has led several organizations in the Office of Chief Information Officer, from the Team Leader to Director levels. In addition to his civilian career, he is a Lieutenant Colonel in the Maryland Army National Guard and serves as the 110th Information Operations Battalion commander. LTC Kavalsky has deployed with the Special Operations Detachment – OTAN to Afghanistan and with the 1-158th Cavalry to Iraq, participated in numerous state-side missions and has held three company commands. He is a graduate of several military schools, including the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College. He has earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science from Susquehanna University and a Master’s Degree in Computer Science from Loyola College.
