Amelia Mitchell

Mia Mitchell is the Chief of Staff to the Deputy Secretary of State for Management and Resources, where she leads a team dedicated to preparing the State Department for diplomacy in the 21st century. She previously served in the State Department's Office of Foreign Assistance, Office of Global Women's Issues, Bureau of African Affairs, and Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights, and Labor. She has also held roles at the White House National Security Council, Office of Management and Budget, and U.S. Agency for International Development. She holds a Master in Public Policy degree from Harvard, where she taught in the Economics Department, and a Bachelor of Arts in government from Smith College.
