Carolyn Hantz CPA, MS, SES

Carolyn Ramona Hantz, Assistant Inspector General for Audit, Department of Labor Office of Inspector General, since January 31, 2021. Ms. Hantz is responsible for conducting audits to review the effectiveness, efficiency, economy, and integrity of DOL programs and operations. Prior to her arrival at the Department of Labor, Ms. Hantz led a team of 72 evaluators in the Office of Inspector General Department of Defense (DOD OIG) and 39 expert auditors. Ms. Hantz is a native of Washington, DC. Mrs. Hantz is a CPA with 39 years of auditing experience. She received her BBA from Howard University and MS from Central Michigan University. She has received the Department of Defense Distinguished Civilian Service Award in January 2021, FY 2020 Mentor of the Year Award, Superior Civilian Service Award in 2006, the President’s Council on Integrity and Efficiency Award of Excellence in 2002, and the Meritorious Civilian Service Award in 2001.
