Cecilia Coates

Ceci Coates is a member of the Senior Executive Service (SES), currently serving as Deputy Comptroller in the Bureau of Comptroller and Global Financial Services (CGFS). She is responsible for Financial Policy Reporting and Analysis, Global Financial Systems and Management Controls across the Department of State. In her previous role as Managing Director in the Bureau of Administration, Office of Logistics Management, she transformed the Department’s logistics processes and pioneered the design, development and implementation of the Integrated Logistics Management System (ILMS) providing the Department of State with a comprehensive and global supply chain, one of the first in government. Ms. Coates currently has over 30 years of government service, 25 years of which has been spent with the Department of State. Ms. Coates is the recipient of the following awards: Two time winner of the FED100 Award for top innovators in the Federal Government; top winner of the prestigious Excellence.Gov Award; the Miles Romney Award for superior property management; the CIO 100 Award for IT excellence; the 2015 Presidential Rank Award for sustained excellence in IT under President Obama, the Women in Analytics Excellence Award 2016, the Innovate IT Award: 2018 Outstanding Civilian Leader of the Year and 2020 SAMMIE finalist in the career achievement category.
