Daniel Ballard

Daniel Ballard was appointed Deputy Chief Financial Officer (DCFO) at the Department of Housing and Urban Development in January 2024. The Office of the Chief Financial Officer (OCFO) reports directly to and advises the Secretary of the Department on all aspects of financial management, accounting, and budgetary matters; ensures the Department establishes and meets financial management goals and objectives; ensures that the Department is in compliance with financial management legislation and directives; analyzes budgetary implications of policy and legislative proposals; and provides technical oversight with respect to all budget activities throughout the Department. From 2017 until 2023, Daniel served as the Deputy Assistant CFO for Budget within OCFO, where he led significant changes to the Department’s budget formulation and execution processes and reporting. This included modernizing workflows, standardizing budget forecasting and enhancing the Department’s publications.
