Mr. Shorstein is a Manager in Deloitte & Touche, LLP’s Federal advisory practice in Washington, D.C. with over 8 years of experience in financial statement audits and audit readiness. He currently supports the United States Coast Guard’s Financial Strategy for Transformation and Audit Readiness (FSTAR) project, where he has provided technical audit readiness support for the past three fiscal years. Daniel is a Certified Government Financial Manager and Certified Public Accountant in Virginia and Florida. He earned Bachelors and Masters of Science degrees in Accounting from the University of Florida. When he’s not supporting the Coast Guard, Daniel enjoys pursuing a handful of hobbies: playing a variety of musical instruments, seeing live bands, writing music for his band, writing musicals with his siblings, rock climbing, running, and cycling.
