Danny Harris

• Dr. Harris served as the Chief Information Officer (CIO) at the US Department of Education from October 2008 to February 2016.34 years of experience in information technology and financial management at the Dept.
• Oversaw the Department's enterprise-wide IT services, including its IT infrastructure, desktops, network, disaster recovery, and printing services
• Also acquired and maintained the Department's most mission critical Financial Management Systems, including the Accounting System, Contracts and Purchasing System, Travel Management System, the Department's award winning Grants Management System, and its Web presence.
• Managed the agency's participation and implementation of Federal CIO Council Initiatives and coordinated Council activities throughout the Department
• Collaborated with OMB and the White House on eGovernment initiatives, such as the 25 Point Implementation Plan for Reform of Federal IT.
• Recognized as Top 100 Information Technology Leaders by ComputerWorld.
