Dawn Simpson

Dawn Simpson is a Director in the U.S. Government Accountability Office’s (US GAO) Financial Management and Assurance Team. She oversees federal financial statement audits, including the audits of the U.S. government’s consolidated financial statements and IRS’s financial statements. She has been GAO’s representative to the International Supreme Audit Institutions’ Working Group on Public Debt since 2011. Ms. Simpson received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in accounting from the University of Kentucky. She is a Certified Public Accountant and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Association of Government Accountants.
