Senior Specialist & Project Manager, Department of Homeland Security

Dominique Wheeler serves as an Information Technology Specialist within the Customer Experience Directorate (CXD) in the Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO). Ms. Wheeler’s work as a Senior Accessibility Specialist and Project Manager includes accessibility testing, training program development, and oversight of technical assistance services to ensure accessibility alignment of all activities. She was previously a member of the Office of Accessible Systems & Technology (OAST) and was responsible for managing training-related and eLearning projects, technical assistance, document remediations, quality assurance, and accessibility testing in the office of service delivery to stakeholders throughout DHS. Ms. Wheeler has an undergraduate degree in Global Terrorism from George Mason University (GMU) and a Master’s degree in Instructional Systems Design (ISD) from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC). In addition to her primary role, she also serves as a member of the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Accessibility Testing Symposium Peer Review Committee. She has also helped advance accessibility and inclusion through her annual contributions annually to DHS Accessibility Days.
