Fredy Diaz has been serving as USDA’s Deputy Chief Data Officer since December 2022. Prior to joining USDA, Fredy was the Director of Analytics at the USPS Office of Inspector General. He previously led the data analytics center of excellence responsible for building analytical and GIS products for auditors and investigators, developing the OIG's data strategy, and responsible for the agency's data literacy program and emerging technology work. Before working at the USPS OIG, he worked in the Labor Department’s real and personal property division, as well as the Department of Defense in aviation weapon system procurement and logistics. Before working for the Federal government, he served in the Marine Corps for nine years, deploying to both Iraq and Afghanistan. He holds an MBA from the University of Baltimore and a Master of Science in Government Analytics from Johns Hopkins University. He was recently featured on CDO Magazine’s 40 Under Forty list for data leaders. He lives in Baltimore with his wife and dog.
