Gil Lang II serves as the Chief Diversity Officer at the Department of Education Office of Inspector General. Gil has more than 20 years of experience working in the field of equal employment opportunity and diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility. Gil served as the Diversity and Inclusion Program Manager for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security Cybersecurity & Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) Office of Equal Employment Opportunity. As the Diversity & Inclusion Program Manager, he was responsible for CISA’s policy formulation, consulting, and strategic management related to equal employment and diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility. Gil also served as the Diversity and Inclusion Program Manager for the U.S. Department of Defense OIG (DoD OIG). In this position, he developed policies, procedures, metrics, and reporting mechanisms designed to promote equitable utilization, strategic planning, budgeting and innovation throughout DOD OIG. He also oversaw the DoD OIG Affirmative Action Program and monitored employment policies, practices, and agency programs to ensure fairness and consistency throughout the organization. Gil holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Organizational Management from Oakland City University, a Master of Science degree in Management from Indiana Wesleyan University, and a Master of Arts in Education and Human Resource Development from The George Washington University.
