Hala Nsouli

Dr. Hala Nsouli serves as the Assistant Executive Director for Risk Reduction at the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC). In this public safety oversight capacity, she leads the implementation of product safety modernization initiatives covering thousands of consumer product categories with an estimated $1.6 trillion in market value. Prior to her current appointment, Dr. Nsouli served as Assistant Inspector General for Technology Solutions at the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), Office of Inspector General (OIG) where she led a comprehensive digital roadmap to prevent and detect fraud within SBA’s programs and operations, which includes oversight of over $1 trillion of lending authority aimed at stabilizing the nation’s economy and providing vital capital to the nation’s small businesses. Her leadership was instrumental in the oversight of SBA pandemic assistance programs, to include fraud detection and investigation. Dr. Nsouli has over two decades of experience and has held multiple positions in the Federal data analytics space leading high-energy, cross-functional teams who harness the power of human-centered technologies to drive organizational growth and elevate the American public’s experience with Federal services. Dr. Nsouli holds from The George Washington University a Doctorate degree in Epidemiology, a Master’s degree in Public Health, and is pursuing a Masters of Engineering in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. She has published over 26 peer-reviewed scientific articles. Dr. Nsouli is also a certified Executive Coach from Georgetown University, and is certified in Executive Leadership from OPM's Federal Executive Institute.
