Holly Mehringer is the Budget Director at the Department of Homeland Security. Ms. Mehringer is responsible for the formulation, presentation, execution, control, and monitoring of DHS’ $90 billion budget for 15 Component agencies to ensure the efficient and effective use of funds. Ms. Mehringer, began her civil service career with the Air Force as a Palace Acquire intern. Over her career she held a wide range of positions at the base, Major Command and headquarters-level in areas of leadership, budget formulation and execution and served as a Mission Support Group Deputy. She holds a Bachelor’s degree from Wittenberg University, a Master’s in Applied Mathematics from the University of Charleston and a Master’s in National Resource Strategy from the National Defense University. She is a Certified Defense Financial Manager and a Level III certified Defense Financial Manager.
