Irina Carnevale

Irina Carnevale is an assistant director at the U.S. Government Accountability Office, in the Forensic Audits and Investigative Service team. Irina is an experienced auditor examining U.S. federal government programs for fraud, waste, and abuse. She led forensic and program audits resulting in publication of multiple reports with policy recommendations to federal agencies and to U.S. Congress in the areas of fraud risk management and oversight of federally-funded infrastructure. In recent years, she reported on fraud and abuse risks in pandemic emergency lending programs for small businesses, the U.S. civil aircraft registration program, and fraud risk management in the largest U.S. health insurance programs - Medicare and Medicaid
