Johanna Sears

Johanna is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with OASA (FM&C) – DASA (FOI), Accountability and Audit Readiness. She has over 15 years of experience conducting audits and providing audit readiness guidance to both commercial clients and Department of Defense organizations. Johanna is currently the acting director of DASA-FOI’s EBS-C Audit Integration Team incorporating financial statement audit considerations into the Army’s new ERP as it is built. She is also the lead of the Army’s Financial Management Workforce Optimization efforts to assist the Army in right-sizing itself in order to achieve and sustain auditability. She has specific expertise in risks and internal controls, Financial Improvement and Audit Readiness (FIAR) guidance, analyzing Notices of Finding and Recommendations (NFRs), and developing and implementing Corrective Action Plans (CAPs). She enjoys leading trainings on all things related to Army Audit. Ms. Sears holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Accounting and a Masters of Accountancy from the George Washington University. Her hobbies include traveling with loved ones as well as trying new foods around the world, the US, and in Washington, DC where she lives.
