Joseph Oliva

Joseph R. Oliva, Colonel, U.S. Army (Retired), CPA, CGMA, has served in uniform and as a Federal civil servant for more than 50 years. He retired from the Army In 1998, after 32 years in military service. Since that time he has served continuously in the Federal inspector general community, currently with the Department of Defense Office of Inspector General. Mr. Oliva’s career as a soldier and Federal civilian includes multiple overseas and warzone deployments. He is a former Member of the AGA Professional Ethics Board (2008-2011), and its former Chairman (2011-2016). He received the AGA National President’s Award in 2013, and the AGA Northern Virginia Chapter Pentagon Memorial Service Award in 2015. Mr. Oliva holds a Bachelor of Science in Management Science from Kean University, a Masters of Business Administration in Accounting from Fairleigh Dickinson University, and completed the United States Army War College as a National Security Research Fellow at Harvard University.
