Karen Lee
Co-Founder, FedsForward
Karen is the co-founder of FedsForward and a seasoned executive leader with extensive experience spanning government, research, non-profit, and the law.
She has served in multiple federal agencies, to include the White House Office of Management and Budget and the Department of Defense. Within OMB, she led the White House’s establishment of the Department of Homeland Security’s foundational regulations, enabled governmentwide reform of federal grants programs, and ushered in unprecedented transparency in federal spending. As Deputy Director of the U.S.-Iraqi Reconstruction effort, Karen oversaw the DOD’s $18.4 billion infrastructure rebuilding in Iraq.
Outside of the federal government, Karen was the Managing Director at MITRE, a non-profit that operates federally funded R and D centers and led development of system engineering-based solutions to implement federal agency missions. She also administered the FCC’s Rural Health Care program and is a licensed attorney in D.C. and New York.
