As an Immersion senior level financial management consultant, Kate provides a myriad of business development support and advisory programmatic and strategic support to Immersion financial management engagements. Prior to joining Immersion served on deployment as a Senior Advisor to the Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, Ministry of Finance, providing extensive program development advisory support associated with performance reporting on Afghan progress under NATO goals. Prior to the Afghan tour of duty, Kate continuously progressed to higher levels of management with proven results within the Chief Financial Officer’s Act Community until deferred retirement in 2014 with 25 years of service. Kate participated in development of policy guidance and implementation with government-wide impact while at OMB, including the revised OMB Circular A-123; implementation of the Data Act; and legislative and implementation support for the Charge Card Management Reform Act, while concomitantly serving as a FASAB, GAO, and Department of the Treasury liaison and working group member for the Government-wide financial statement compilation, report, and audit. Until her appointment at the OMB, Kate provided senior accounting advisor support and leadership at U. S. Coast Guard, acting as the Inaugural Comptroller, a newly established position to be the key financial accounting and reporting executive as CG pursued progress toward a clean financial statement audit opinion. Kate has worked for the Senate Homeland Security Committee, Subcommittee on Federal Financial Management and International Affairs; served as the Chief of Staff to the first Senate-confirmed CFO at DHS; and previously successful financial management transformation efforts at the DEA, as Chief of Financial Reporting and Systems, world-wide. Kate is also a former United States Marine.
