Kyle Burgess

Kyle Burgess is a Specialist Leader at Deloitte & Touche LLP, currently serving as a lead in the Risk and Financial Advisory (RFA) Blockchain & Digital Assets (BDA) offering, driving the formalization, operationalization, and scaling of the practice. With over 20 years of professional experience—including more than a decade in the blockchain, digital assets, and web3 ecosystem—Kyle brings a proven ability to lead diverse cross-functional teams and work directly with senior leaders to foster innovation. Ms. Burgess is a seasoned technology practitioner, who has conducted in-depth policy research on emerging technology and has overseen strategic technology builds from ideation through implementation and risk mitigation. As a subject matter advisory, she speaks at conferences and counsels executives on a variety of topics related to blockchain and digital asset technology as well as artificial intelligence. Prior to joining Deloitte, Ms. Burgess served as the Executive Director and Editor-in-Chief of a consumer public policy organization, where she advocated for evidence-based policymaking and conducted research into the impact of federal and state consumer laws and regulations. Her work primarily focused on helping consumers, legislators, and regulators better understand the consumer implications of innovation and emerging technologies, such as cryptocurrencies, artificial intelligence, personal genetic testing services, and sharing economy platforms. Ms. Burgess’s professional experience spans public, private, non-profit, and multi-national organization support. She holds an MA in economics and international relations from Johns Hopkins University's School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) and an MBA from Georgetown University's McDonough School of Business.
