Lauren Mackin has over 15 years of auditing experience with the Department of Health and Human Services’ Office of Inspector General (OIG). Lauren currently serves as an Assistant Director in the Public Health and Human Services Audit Division. In her role she is responsible for the oversight of areas including the Food and Drug Administration, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Health Resources Services and Administration, and HHS contracts. Lauren has developed significant program expertise during her tenure with the OIG by leading or participating in many complex and comprehensive audits as well as OIG initiatives related to a wide range of health and human service programs. Some of the areas and initiatives include opioid prescribing and dispensing at Indian Health Service hospitals, health and safety of children, suspension and debarment, and the annual internal quality control reviews.
