Lindsey Saul
Chief Data Officer, GAO
Lindsey Saul is the Chief Data Officer (CDO), U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO)
Previously she served as the Chief Data and Analytics Officer at the Defense Logistics Agency
(DLA).
Saul is a trusted data and analytics professional, social science researcher, and practitioner with
an interdisciplinary educational and experiential background, including logistics, public policy,
public health, psychology, forensic science, social work, and project management. She is
dedicated to systematically addressing the government’s critical problems through strategic
vision and dynamic teamwork.
Accordingly, Saul has extensive experience working with diverse groups and communities,
coordinating programmatic efforts, and managing high-performing teams. She has a unique
ability to translate research findings into succinct, compelling, and persuasive information for
various audiences.
In her new role, Saul will be responsible for overseeing the data strategy and analytics efforts to
optimize the use of data in addressing governmental challenges. Her role supports GAO’s
mission to deliver accurate information and insights to Congress, promoting government
accountability and transparency.
Saul’s previous roles include Lead Analytics Strategist for Strategic Data and Analysis at the
DLA, Branch Chief for Data and Analysis in the Non-Medical Counseling Program Office at the
Department of Defense, and a Presidential Management Fellow at the Defense Health Agency.
