Deputy Assistant Inspector General, EPA Office of Inspector General

Marcus Gullett has served as the acting deputy assistant inspector general at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Office of Inspector General since October 2022. Mr. Gullett is responsible for leading the Office of Audit’s oversight of approximately $61 billion in Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act funds. Prior to joining the EPA OIG, Mr. Gullett worked at the Department of Defense OIG, where he served as the deputy assistant inspector general for Audit. In this position, he assisted the assistant inspector general in supervising financial statement audits and attestations performed or overseen by the DOD OIG. Mr. Gullett has 18 years of government experience leading audits covering a variety of topics, including financial statements, information technology, human resources, business process reengineering, real estate, logistics, and enterprise resource planning systems. He holds a bachelor of science in business from Indiana University and a master of public administration from Syracuse University. He is a certified public accountant and certified internal auditor. Mr. Gullett enjoys spending time with his wife and four children, reading, and working out. He is a huge fan of puns, his favorite sports dynasty is the 1980s San Francisco 49ers, and he holds the unpopular opinion that Universal Studios is better than Disney World.
