Maria Papadakis

Dr. Maria Papadakis is a Professor of Integrated Science and Technology at James Madison University and a Certified Energy Manager with the Association of Energy Engineers. Her expertise is in sustainability and sustainable design, reducing greenhouse gas emissions from energy production and use, and the adoption and diffusion of innovation. Dr. Papadakis is especially focused on sociotechnical systems and the practical challenges of large-scale social change in achieving net zero societies. She is a co-author of Environmental Engineering and Sustainable Design, 2nd ed. (Cengage 2023) and currently serves on the board of the Harrisonburg Electric Commission in Virginia.
