Mr. Mark Easton assumed his current position as the Deputy Chief Financial Officer (DCFO), in the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense (Comptroller) in May 2009. He is responsible for creating a financial framework inclusive of policy, systems, audit, and reporting based on government accounting and auditing standards, federal regulations and laws, and best business practices, and leads the Financial Improvement and Audit Readiness campaign, a distinct part of the Department’s Reform Agenda.
Prior to becoming the Department’s DCFO, Mr. Easton served five years as the Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Navy and Director for Financial Operations, within the Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Navy, Financial Management and Comptroller. He retired from the Navy at the rank of captain in September 2002, following a 29-year career in the Navy Supply Corps, serving in assignments both afloat and ashore.
Mark is a native of Kansas City, Missouri, and proud to be a Certified Defense Financial Manager with Acquisition Specialty.
