Megan Limarzi CIG

Megan Davey Limarzi is the Inspector General for Montgomery County, Maryland, a suburb of Washington, D.C.. Montgomery County is the largest County in Maryland with over one million residents and an annual operating budget of $6.7B. Ms. Limarzi was born and raised in the Washington, DC metropolitan area. Her proximity to Washington stoked a lifelong commitment to public service and belief in the importance of good government. As the Inspector General for Montgomery County, Ms. Limarzi is responsible for directing the OIG’s four-year workplan, fraud hotline, and audit activities. In addition to county government, Ms. Limarzi’s office has oversight authority for Montgomery College, the Housing Opportunities Commission of Montgomery County, and Montgomery County Public Schools, the largest school district in Maryland. Under her leadership the OIG has seen a 145% year over year increase in complaints received, issued 60 reports, made 160 recommendations, and reviewed programs valued at over half a billion dollars.
