Michael has been Deputy Associate Director for Economic Policy at the United States Office of Management and Budget (OMB) since 2007. Before becoming Deputy Associate Director, he served as a financial economist in OMB’s Economic Policy division, developing cost estimates and policy proposals for Federal credit and insurance programs. Prior to joining OMB, he served as a research economist at the Central Bank of Argentina. Michael has been a Rokos Policy Fellow in the Hutchins Center on Fiscal and Monetary Policy in Economic Studies at the Brookings Institution. He has a Master’s Degree in Economics from the University of Wisconsin at Madison.
