Michael Hennessy CGFM

Michael Hennessy, CGFM, is a director with 14 years of accounting and federal financial management experience. Michael joined Sikich after seven years with a large global firm. In that role, he supported public sector clients, such as the U.S. Army and U.S. Coast Guard, with audit readiness, financial process improvements, and Property, Plant, Equipment (PPE) management. He also supported the State of Maryland in managing their response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Michael completed a military career with the U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) that included operational assignments throughout the nation and seven years of mission support in the financial management and accounting field. Notably, Michael managed the planning, programming, budgeting and execution (PPBE) process for $2 billion of the USCG’s operational appropriation. Michael enjoys an active lifestyle that includes strength training, cycling, yoga and swimming. He relaxes by boating during the summer and skiing in the winter with his son and daughter.
