Michael Sackos

Mike Sackos is both a CGFM and CDFM and holds an MBA. After graduating from the University of Wyoming, Mike entered the U.S. Army. Over his Army career, Mike was the Comptroller for the 82nd Airborne Infantry Division as well as the Comptroller for the United States Army Special Forces Command. He also served as the Comptroller for military task forces in Afghanistan as well as Iraq. After retiring from the Army, Mike served as a Financial Management Advisor and Mentor to senior foreign Financial Management leaders in Afghanistan, what later became the nation of South Sudan, and in Bosnia and Herzegovina to assist them in developing their FM programs. Upon returning to the USA, Mike became the Chief of Budget Execution for the Joint Readiness Training Center and Fort Polk, Louisiana. He is now the Director of Budget Execution and Budget Planning overseeing the Development portion of the Information Technology Appropriation of the Department of Veterans Affairs.
