Michele Johnson serves as the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Immigration & Customs Enforcement’s (ICE), Office of Assurance & Compliance Chief. Mrs. Johnson has served in leadership roles in accounting and auditing in both the private and government sector. She joins the ICE family coming from the Department of Veterans Affairs, where she served as the Federal Managers Financial Integrity Act (FMFIA) and Federal Financial Management Improvement Act (FMFIA) Program Lead, achieving innovative strategies and process development procedures to meet the OMB A-123, Appendix D requirements. Prior to her assignment at the Department of Veterans Affairs, Mrs. Johnson worked at the Department of Housing and Urban Development reviewing housing authority audited financial statements. Additionally, Mrs. Johnson has extensive private sector experience, including CACI, Inc.; MorganFranklin, LLC; PricewaterhouseCoopers, LLC; and Battelle among others. Mrs. Johnson’s program management experience includes contract acquisition management, strategic planning, resource allocation, and coordination in support of organizational operations. She has attained the Federal Acquisition Certification for Program and Project Managers (FAC-P/PM) and Contracting Officer’s Representative (FAC-COR) level II. Mrs. Johnson’s education includes master’s degrees in science in Accounting, Public Administration, and Business Administration.
