Mitchell Smith is a Senior Accountant at the Department of Energy (DOE) within the Payment Integrity & Services Division. Mitchell has worked at DOE for over 11 years and has significant experience in the accounts payable and payment integrity fields. During Mitchell’s time in the accounts payable team, DOE maintained a 99.8% Prompt Payment rate and increased the percentage of vendors invoicing electronically to almost 95%. Mitchell is currently focused on finding improvements within the payment integrity process starting at the beginning of the payment process all the way through the annual payment integrity reporting initiative.
