Nicole Shaffer MS

Nicole Shaffer is a Senior Communications Specialist for the Tennessee Comptroller of the Treasury. Nicole oversees the Office’s involvement in the Top Workplaces program and guides the planning and presentation of several employee feedback initiatives including office-wide surveys, events, and outreach initiatives on behalf of Office leadership. She also partners with the Comptroller’s Human Resources team and other divisions within the Office to organize employee engagement-focused campaigns and other special projects that help promote and sustain a healthy and engaging workplace. In addition, Nicole manages the Fiscal Note Support Form process for the comptroller’s Office each legislative session and she serves as the Comptroller’s appointee on the Tennessee Health Service & Development Agency. Nicole joined the Comptroller’s Office in 2014 as a Legislative Legal Assistant, supporting the Comptroller’s Office of General Counsel in addition to several ombudsmen positions, and she joined the Comptroller’s Office of Communications in 2017. Prior to her service with the Comptroller’s Office, Nicole worked for the Tennessee General Assembly. Nicole is a graduate of Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro, Tennessee from which she holds a Bachelor of Science in International Relations and a Bachelor of Arts in Global Studies. In addition, Nicole holds a Master of Science in Management from Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, Tennessee.
