Pedro Maldonado is the Director, Office of Financial Management within Federal Highways Administration responsible for the agency’s financial policy, GAO/OIG audit liaison, and A-123 functions. Previously, Mr. Maldonado served as acting Section Chief of Internal Control Review Program within the Office of the Chief Financial Officer at the Internal Revenue Service, conducting neutral and informative reviews, evaluations, and reports of service-wide activities, programs, and key financial transactions. He has over 20 years of experience in the federal government and has been working in Washington, DC, for the last ten years. Mr. Maldonado served in the U.S. Army as a 19D Cavalry Scout, he was awarded a Purple Heart during a deployment to Iraq in 2008. He received his bachelor’s degree in Political Science at the University of Texas in 2010 and a master's degree in International Administration at the University of Miami in 2012. He is currently a studying for a doctoral degree in Global Security at American Military University.
