S. Asmat Nasir
Chief, Planning and Budget Formulation, USCIS HQ Office of the Chief Financial Officer
Azmat Nasir is the Chief of Planning & Formulation in the Office of Chief Financial Officer (OCFO) at the Department of Homeland Security’s U.S. Citizenship & Immigration Services (USCIS). He is responsible for formulating USCIS’ $5 billion annual budget along with overseeing the agency’s Strategic and Management performance measures. He previously served as a Directorate Budget Officer for a USCIS entity, and prior to that was a Lead for the Homeland Security Investigations’ budget portfolio at U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s OCFO. During his federal tenure, he also had a rotational opportunity to manage projects at the White House Office of Management & Budget. Prior to joining the federal sector, he spent eight years with Wells Fargo Bank in various roles ranging from retail and business banking to corporate trust services. He holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from The University of Texas at Austin and an M.B.A. from the University of Maryland.
