Dr. Sabrina Clark was appointed Director of the Center for Development & Civic Engagement, formerly Voluntary Service on September 23, 2013 for the Department of Veterans Affairs. As the largest integrated volunteer program in the Federal government, Dr. Clark has oversight for the volunteer workforce, gifts and donations, as well as the development and philanthropic engagement activities across the Veterans Health Administration (VHA), supplementing the care and services provided to more than 9 million Veterans. Under Clark’s leadership, the agency took in more than $30M in gifts and donations to support COVID-19 operations throughout VHA and $108M in total during fiscal year 2020. Although volunteer operations were severely curtailed during the pandemic, VA had more than 46,000 volunteers serving approximately 4 million hours during this period. She possesses a bachelor’s in Music Therapy, a Masters in Vocal Performance, and a Doctorate in Positive Neuropsychology. Her numerous credentials, extensive background in talent development and creativity make up the foundation of her effective tactical leadership skills and executive presence to position the Center for Development & Civic Engagement, to meet the diverse needs of VA and Veterans well into the future.
