Sonia Saxena

Ms. Sonia Saxena is currently serving as Defense Health Agency (DHA)’s Branch Chief for Audit Response and Remediation. In her current role, she oversees compliance, response and remediation for Financial Statement audit across multiple Agency stakeholders, external Agencies and Department of Defense Service Providers. She also oversees response and remediation for other non-financial GAO and/or DODIG compliance and operations audits. Prior to starting her service at the DHA, she served as the Financial Improvement and Audit Readiness lead at the Defense Human Resources Agency and SMA-Navy, Bureau of Medicine and Surgery (BUMED). She has more than 10 years combined Government Accounting and Audit experience including financial statements for DOD and Non-DOD Agencies. Prior to her Government service, she has performed several compliance audits for a Prescription Benefits Management (PBM) for larger retail pharmacies. She holds her Bachelors in Accounting and Masters in Accounting and Financial Management from University of Maryland University College. She holds a DOD Financial Management (FM) Level II Certification.
