Mr. Stephen Conway

Audit Director, HHS OIG

Stephen has been with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Office of Inspector General, Office of Audit Services for the past 35 years. Over his career, his responsibilities included conducting/ managing performance audits of the Medicare and Medicaid programs, information technology audits of Federal and State systems, data analytics, investigative assist with the HHS-OIG Office of Investigations and the Department of Justice and is currently coordinating joint Federal/State audits of the Medicaid program. He laid the groundwork to establish the OIG 's data warehouse bringing together for the first time Medicare and Medicaid claims data enabling cross-program data analytics. Stephen is the recipient of numerous recognitions and awards to include being a two-time recipient of the Inspector General's Bronze Medal for Outstanding Employee of the Year. Stephen earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Merrimack College, North Andover, Massachusetts followed by a Masters in Business Administration from Southern New Hampshire University, Manchester, New Hampshire he is a member of the Executive Committee for the New England Intergovernmental Audit Forum.
