Ms. Maung is passionate about auditing. She has been in the field approximately twenty years. In 2004, she started her career as a compliance auditor at Trailblazer Health LLC. In 2006, she joined the City of Dallas Office of the City Auditor as an Auditor II. She was promoted into the position of Interim Assistant City Auditor V, one of two positions that reports directly to the City Auditor. She served in that position until her departure from the City of Dallas in 2019. In June 2019, Ms. Maung accepted the position of Deputy City Auditor for the City of Baltimore. In this position, she leads a team of 40 professionals, and oversees the City’s Annual Comprehensive Financial Report, Single Audit, Performance Audits, Special Audits, and Pre-audits (contract reviews before presentation to the Board of Estimates for their approval). Ms. Maung is actively involved in several professional associations. She is a former AGA Regional Vice President for the South-Central Region and a former President of the AGA – Dallas Chapter. She is a passionate advocate for auditors’ independence. She currently serves in the Association of Local Government Auditors (ALGA) Advocacy Committee, which promotes the value of independent performance auditing throughout the local government community. She is also committed to serving the local community functioning as a member of the Notre Dame of Maryland University (NDMU) Board of Trustees. Ms. Maung graduated from the NDMU in 2004 with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting and Computer Information Systems. She completed her Executive Master of Business Administration in Global Leadership from the University of Texas at Dallas in May 2016. She is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), and a Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM).
