Todd Newnam is the Chief Financial Officer of the IRS, overseeing the bureau’s financial operations, procurement, facilities management, and privacy. Before this role, Todd was a special advisor to Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, where he advanced several key initiatives in IT, procurement, and finance. With over 30 years of leadership experience in the private sector, he has held significant roles, including Chairman and CEO of Encore Technology Group, and Managing Director at The Carlyle Group, where he spearheaded the US Industrials Leveraged Buyout Team and played pivotal roles in the Technology and Aerospace and Defense Leveraged Buyout Teams. Earlier in his career, Todd was Vice President at Bowles Hollowell Conner, focusing on mergers and acquisitions in the Aerospace/Defense sector. Todd holds a bachelor's degree in political science from Davidson College and an MBA with honors from Harvard Business School.
