William Henderson CPA, CISA

Bill is an Auditor and has been with OIG since June 2022. He supports the OIG by assisting Darrell Benjamin Assistant Inspector General, Audit with a variety of audit tasks. Mostly Bill works on mandatory audits such as the annual financial statement audit, FISMA, PIIA, and Charge Card audits. Other assignments include assisting with the 2023 Peer Review, preparing and reviewing policies and procedures, and Contract Audit Tracking Tool, CPE tracking tool development. Prior to joining DFC, Bill worked as an auditor in the federal government for almost 17 years and as an accountant or auditor in the private sector for 16 years. Bills public service work includes working with the Administrative Office of the United States Courts, and United States Department of Agriculture. His responsibilities included Independent Public Accounting firm oversight, performance auditing, financial statement auditing, peer reviews, policy and procedure development, risk assessments, and training. Bill’s private sector work includes working as a Senior accountant with Mt. Washington Pediatric Hospital, and St. Agnes Hospital, and as Finance Director at the American Postal Workers Union Health Plan. Bill’s auditing career began as an auditor with Clifton Gunderson, LLC where he performed numerous financial statement and information systems audits. Bill is married to his wonderful wife Beth, has two children in college and a dog named Maggie. Ellie is 21 and will graduate with an Elementary Education degree in May 2024, and Will is 19 and will graduate with a Finance degree in May 2026. Bill graduated from Shepherd College with a BS degree in Accounting and a minor in Economics. He enjoys many activities including pickleball, hiking, scuba diving, skiing, mountain biking, eating delicious food, tasty cocktails, and spending time with family and friends.
